UPON PERFORMING OUR TESTING AND INSPECTION. WE FOUND THAT THE BATTERY IS DEAD/BAD. THE ENGINE IS LEAKING COOLANT FROM UNDER THE INTAKE, THERMOSTAT HOUSING, WATER PUMP, HOSES, AND OTHER. THE NOISE/VIBRATION CONCERN WAS COMING FROM A LARGE ROCK WE FOUND WEDGED INTO THE FRAME. WE REMOVED THE ROCK. THE NOISE AND VIBRATION IS GONE AT IDLE.

UPON PERFORMING OUR TESTING AND INSPECTION. WE FOUND THAT THE TRANSMISSION PUMP IS MAKING A WHINE NOISE. THE A/T FLUID IS FULL BUT BLACK IN COLOR AND SMELLS BURNT. THE PAN AND PAN MAGNET ARE CONTAMINATED WITH FINE METAL PARTICULATES. RECOMMEND REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION. CUSTOMER APPROVED.

Upon inspection the tech scanned found codes: P2706 – Shift Sol F The tech performed diagnostics for the current code. The tech noted the solenoid block is failing. When the tech pulled the pan found the fluid full, and much clutch material in different piles in the bottom of the pan. This is showing that the transmission is in the early stage of failure. The tech noted we can replace the solenoid block, service the transmission and this will work for sometime. Or we can pull the transmission now and rebuild it as needed. Advised the customer of findings. The customer requested we only change the solenoid block at this time.

Upon inspection the tech scanned found code: P1177-00 – Synchronization – Not current DTC. The tech test drove multiple times the transmission is working and performing as designed. The tech was able to duplicate the customers concern. When in two low speeds at light throttle the engine will start to misfire on all cylinders, the vehicle will start to hesitate and jerk. Then once stopped you start to take off from a stop and it feels like the engine is stalling. Again the tech found multiple and random misfires present. At this time the tech recommend taking to diesel mechanic for further inspections and repairs.

UPON INSPECTION THE TECH FOUND THE LINKAGE NUT AT THE TRANSMISSION WAS LOOSE. THIS WAS ALLOWING EXCESSIVE MOVEMENT AND NOT ALLOWING THE TRANSMISSION TO ENGAGE INTO GEAR.
